Graphics

A drawing or picture; A computer-generated image as viewed on a screen forming part of a game, film, or document.

Header and Footer

A header or footer is text or other information such as graphics that is stored at the top or bottom of the page throughout your document. You can use the same header and footer throughout a document or change the header and footer for part of the document.

Footnote and End Note

A tool that enables you to insert citations into Microsoft Word. EndNote allows you to insert graphics and create links to pdf documents, use predefined manuscript templates and export a traveling library from Microsoft Word into an EndNote library.

Drawing objects

Use Drawing objects when you create clip art, paint with a Drawing Brush, or use Visual objects. Drawing object describes visible content, such as a shape, video, or a line of text. Different types of drawings describe different types of content.

Drawing Canvas

A tool on MS word. It is a frame-like environment that helps you insert and arrange a drawing or drawings in your document.

Desktop Publishing

To create professional looking documents using a personal computer.

Crop

To cut out unneeded parts of an image or a page

Clip Art

A ready made pieces of art that can be used to decorate documents.

Banner

An advertisement that appears in web sites. They are usually animated and rectangular.

Window

A rectangular area used to display a program, message, or data

Scroll Bar

Horizontal and vertical bars that allow you to see parts of the display not currently visible

Menus

Drop-down lists containing commands that can be executed

Pointing Device

A mouse or trackball used to select objects, such as icons or text

Pointer

An on-screen symbol showing the current position of the mouse
